Set in 1916, during World War I, in the fictional town of Ramsden, Yorkshire, The Choral is a historical comedy drama film. It follows the members of the local choral society which recruits a group of teenage boys and girls to replace all the men who have enlisted to help the war effort. They work towards a performance of Edward Elgar's 'The Dream of Gerontius' under the direction of the demanding Dr Guthrie.


Starring Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, Mark Addy, Alun Armstrong, Robert Emms, and Simon Russell Beale. Directed by Nicholas Hytner and written by Alan Bennett.
